Hello, I'm Laura, and I am honored to serve as the Vice President of Professional Development at the Education Students' Association, University of Calgary. As a passionate advocate for the growth and success of pre-service teachers, I curate engaging and enriching professional development sessions with a sincere desire to help pre-service teachers feel more prepared, confident, and capable in front of the class. I am dedicated to empowering you with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive in their teaching careers.
I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and am currently completing my final year of a bachelor's degree in secondary education. I bring a strong foundation in language learning and an investigative lens into the ins and outs of the educational landscape in Alberta. My goal is to provide each pre-service teacher- no matter the specialization- with professional development sessions that have a sharp focus on a diverse range of topics, including Indigenous studies, EDI, STEM, language learning, teacher and student wellness, career navigation, conflict resolution, and assessment. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting your professional development journey as a future educator!
